ART EXHIBITION FOR CHARITY
On the 24th of October 2008, Mel Sharp together with Miriam hosted an art exhibition at the Miriam Agnew Gallery, which is in the heart of Constantia.
The aim of this exhibition was to help raise funds for two worthy charities namely the Chaeli Campaign and the Home of Hope.
The work of prominent Cape Town artists was show cased. The artists who participated were Kevin Stanley, Wyn Rossouw, Quintin Gray, Elaine van Hoffen, Cardin Fox, Peter Jander and Pat Donald.
The exhibition was opened by Hazel Soan, a highly acclaimed British artist. Other than being an artist, Hazel has also presented various art programs on the BBC and is the author of ten art books. She recommended buying paintings. According to her they are unique and can't be copied or reproduced and don't go down in value. She revealed that she has never met a person who regrets
buying a painting but she has met people who regret not buying. The exhibition was successful and enjoyed by all who attended it. |
